It is easy to make the mistake of assuming that a caterer’s role is just ‘to make and serve the food and the beverages. In reality, our responsibilities go far beyond the food to ensure your day is perfect in every way.
Our ultimate role is to ensure that your guests leave your wedding reception full and happy. You can either select one style of food or mix and match different dining styles to come up with a unique menu that's custom-built to meet the needs of your day and budget.

The events team at Free Range Chef have years of experience in not only the planning and logistics of a wedding but also in ensuring no stone is unturned and thinking ahead to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Rachel Grove, the head of our Events Team, has not only worked for some of the largest hotel chains both in NZ and in the UK, but also has experience with running and organising events in some of New Zealand's remote locations and venues.

Reading our menus is one thing, but tasting the food is even better!
We invite all our couples to come along to our kitchens and ensure everything actually tastes the way you imagine to ensure the unique menu you have selected is right for you.
Not only will tasting the wedding food prior avoid unexpected surprises, but it will also most definitely eliminate any stress or worries you might have had before related to your guests' experience.
Our tastings do come at an extra cost, however, once you confirm your day with us we will remove this cost from the total of your booking.
